This bill of sale arose after the 4th Earl of Abingdon defaulted upon the repayment of an annuity to Robert Albion Cox. It was purchased by Richard Way, another of the Earl's creditors. Appended to the bill is an inventory of the goods at Rycote which were to become Way's property

Interesting to read of the sale of the the 4th Earl's possessions and the decline in fortune of both Rycote and the Earls of Abingdon. Has any work been undertaken to trace the sale of the books and manuscripts from the library?
