In January 1779 financial difficulties forced the 4th Earl of Abingdon into the sale of all his household goods at Rycote Park and other properties. This indenture records the two transactions by which Richard Way was able to secure control of the Earl's personal effects. Way then proceeded to hold a five day sale at Rycote later that year in July.
