Portrait of Queen Anne

The eighteen year old Anne visited Rycote on 22 May 1683 with her father James, Duke of York, and stepmother Mary of Modena. The royal party were entertained with "a most noble & splendid diner" following their five day visit to Oxford and the University (MS. Wood D. 19(3), fol. 58v). This undated portrait of Anne, as Queen, is from a draft excise commission.
